However, if nobody is hurt a minor accident can be manageable if you take a few simple steps.

1. Turn on hazard lights to let other vehicles know to take caution.
2. Only get out of your car if it is safe to do so.
3. Check that that other driver is ok and no-one has been injured.
4. Call the Garda Siochana if necessary.
5. Make a note of the other driver’s registration number, car make, model and colour.
6. Exchange insurance details with the other driver.
7. If there was a witness get their contact details.

Once you have done all this you may need to begin the process of getting your car repaired and it is very important that you get an experienced garage qualified in crash repairs.
